M. Night Shyamalan’s ‘Split’ Lands 2017 Release Date

The suspense thriller reunites “The Visit” director with Universal and Blumhouse

Universal Pictures and Blumhouse Productions will release M. Night Shyamalan‘s “Split” on Jan. 20, 2017, it was announced Tuesday.
James McAvoy, Anya Taylor-Joy, Betty Buckley, Jessica Sula and Haley Lu Richardson star in “Split,” which is a suspense thriller with elements of the supernatural.

Jason Blum and Marc Bienstock will return to produce, while Ashwin Rajan and Steven Schneider will executive produce. Universal, Blumhouse and Shyamalan recently collaborated on “The Visit.”

“Split” takes over the previously announced Untitled Blumhouse title, which was slated for release on Jan. 27, 2017.
The film currently has the release date of Jan. 20, 2017 to itself, though it’s a safe bet to assume that one of the five releases on Jan. 13, 2017 — “The Dark Tower,” “Power Rangers,” “Friday the 13th,” “Geostorm” and “Hidden Figures” — could push one week.
